Is this a full-year homeschool elective?
Yes. The study is structured across 36 weeks and includes approximately 140 planned hours of reading, field work, reflection, selection, organization, and portfolio development. The parent remains responsible for assigning credit according to applicable homeschool requirements.
What equipment does the student need?
The student needs a smartphone or digital camera, access to a computer, and a practical way to store and organize image files. An interchangeable-lens camera is helpful but not required. Photo-editing software is not required.
Do parents need photography experience?
No. Parent Course Administration provides the syllabus, calendar, assessment rubrics, optional letter-grade method, Portfolio Quick Guide, and Final Course Record. The parent provides oversight and evaluates the completed work without having to teach photography technique.
Can siblings in the same household use the materials?
Yes. One purchase covers siblings within the same household. Parents may duplicate the trackers, records, templates, and certificates so each participating student can complete and document their own work.
What is the refund policy?
Because the complete digital package becomes available immediately after purchase, all sales are final once access has been granted, except as required by applicable law.
If a file is corrupted, incomplete, or unavailable because of a delivery problem, contact support@availablelightmedia.com within 14 days. We will restore access or provide a replacement file at no charge. Verified duplicate purchases reported within 14 days will be refunded to the original payment method.
